■一式陸上攻撃機（G4M）とマレー沖海戦
日本帝国海軍は仮想敵としていたアメリカ海軍に比べ戦艦の数が少なく、劣勢をカバーするために航続距離の長い陸上攻撃機を整備していた。一式陸上攻撃機は前作の９６式陸攻同様に三菱重工で開発され、太平洋戦争の始まる直前の昭和１６（１９４１）年４月に制式採用された。
真珠湾奇襲攻撃の２日後の昭和１６年（１９４１）年１２月１０日、日本海軍は戦艦「プリンス・オブ・ウェールズ」と巡洋戦艦「レバレス」を主力とするイギリス戦艦を発見した。日本軍のマレー半島上陸部隊を叩くために、シンガポールから出港してきたのだ。
一式陸攻２６機と９６式陸攻撃４９機はそれぞれ魚雷や爆弾を搭載して戦艦へと殺到し、イギリス海軍の必死の対空砲火をかいくぐり多数の命中弾を与えた。一式陸攻は「プリンス・オブ・ウェールズ」に魚雷を５本以上、「レバレス」に魚雷を１０本以上命中させて撃沈した。
モデルのK-310はこのとき「レバレス」に魚雷を命中させた鹿屋航空隊第３中隊分隊長 壱岐春記大尉が隊長を務める機体である。
それまで作戦行動中の戦艦を航空機が撃沈することは不可能と信じられたために、世界に与えた衝撃は大きかった。一式陸攻は日本海軍が描いた通りの活躍を見せた時でもあった。
最大速度：428km/h、航続距離：4,278km、武装：９１式航空魚雷改×1もしくは500kg爆弾×1など。

to rally an inferior position to
their hypothetical enemy U.S.,because
IJN's battleships were fewer than
theirs.
G4M"Betty"
was developed by Mitsubishi Heavy
Industries as well as G3M"Nell"
and formally adopted by IJN in April
1941 just before The Pacific War
of WW�� occurred.
On
December 10th,1941.two days after
Attack on Pearl Harbor,IJN found
British fleet mainly composed of
the battleship Prince of Wales and
battle cruiser Repulse.They left
Singapore to attack Japanese landing
force to Malay Peninsula.

aircrafts of G4M and 49 of G3M,loaded
with torpedoes and bombs,rushed
to the fleet and dropped many shots
slipping throught antiaircraft fire
of the British fleet.G4M hit the
Prince of Wales with more than 5
torpedoes and Repulse with more
than 10,Prince of Wales and Repulse
sunk.
The
model of K-310 is the aircraft which
hit Repulse with torpedoes,captained
by the division officer of the 3rd
Squadron Kanoya Koku-tai,Lieutenant
Haruki Iki.
Until
then,it had been believed an aircraft
couldn't defeat a battleship on
operation,so this event shocked
the world severely.This is the moment
G4M showed the performance exactly
what IJN envisioned.
